2 Days @ the Zoo

The boys and I have gone to the Battle Creek Zoo two days in a row now. We went the 1st time w/my mom and sister Melanie, and today w/Shaun and my sister Bethany. Here are some pictures that we got.

I'd have to call our experience "nature gone wild" LOL This, is a picture of two turtles getting it on. We thought it was a lion making noises at first, till we came upon this. I also just missed getting the monkey that was...umm...making himself happy.

Jaden WAS smiling when I went to take this picture, but my camera was giving me problems. By time I took it, he was like..."umm, someone gonna take me off????"

Aunt Bethany volunteered to take Jaden to feed the goats b/c daddy refused to go in the gate, and I had a sleeping Asher. He was SO good about it, didn't cry or anything!

Daddy DID take Jaden up to go down the slide. Jaden likes slides, very adventurous, no fear!!

Jaden feeding the giraffe.

Jaden exploring and enjoying himself!!

I TRIED to get him to pick a different stuffed animal, like a cute turtle, but he was DEAD set on getting the snake.

At the end of the day, I had some TIRED boys!!!

I can't believe Asher fell asleep while I was holding him outward,
but he must have just been exhausted. He cut his second tooth
today, plus he got shots on Tuesday. So, he's had some rough last
two days, poor little guy!!

4 Months Old

Asher actually turned 4mos last week, but we just had his check up today. He weighs 16.10lbs and is 24.25ins long, short and fat...LOL I had been wanting to talk w/the doctor about his pooping issue. TMI, he's been having problems going for a month now. About every 5 days, I'd have to go digging for poop as I called it w/the thermometer up his butt. GROSS!! I'd fed him prunes, nothing. I'd done karyo syrup bottles, still nothing. So, Saturday I started karyo syrup AND prune juice bottles, figured I'd go double wammy on him, STILL nothing. So, we get to the peds, and I'm telling the nurse all about his issues. She no sooner walks out the door, and he starts letting off some WICKED farts. Yep, you guessed it, he poops! Kids can be like your car as a teenager. It needs fixing, so you have dad take a look at it. Dad takes a look, and it's majically fixed...(what ya gonna do...lol)

I'm Adicted

That's the 1st step, right, admitting it? Yes, I'm addicted to the computer. Oh, I have good reasons. This is my life-line. I don't go to work (again, my choice and I'm not complaining about it!), but that means I don't have regular adult interaction. I come here to get on my chat line and talk to adults. To get on here and interact w/adults. To email and write back and forth w/adults. On days that Shaun is home, I get on only to check emails or sometimes, I don't get on at all. Or, on days that I'm out w/family, I find that I don't get on here much if at all.
Tonight, I got off line, so that I could get some stuff done around the house. I did a load of laundry, picked up the livingroom; I even vacuumed. Me personally, I could care less about what my house looks like. I don't want it to be dirty, but I don't mind it being messy. To me, it just means it's lived in. But, I know my neat freak husband will appreciate coming home to a picked up livingroom. I hope he knows I love him b/c I didn't do it for me!

ANOTHER early night

I'm not sure what Jaden's deal has been, but it was another early night for him. He was just a CRAB. Even Grandma w/her magic touch didn't do it for him today. I'm hoping he's not getting another ear infectionNo I'm working on getting Asher to get to bed earlier. He's my night owl and late sleeper. He'll stay up till 11P and sleep till 11A. While it's nice to be able to sleep in, I know we need to be getting up earlier. I've given up on him and thumb sucking. He's SO determined to suck his thumb! I keep pushing the pacifier, which he does take at times, but his favorite is his thumb. Jaden has started using his thumb too, but I'm nipping that in the butt Duh THAT's just what I need...NOT! Well, I should do some more laundry and pick up Jaden's mess now that he's in bed.

It's A Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood

Today, was a good day my friends! Jaden got to see Grandma today after her being gone for a week. They were both exstatic! We went to the craft show, where, I didn't find anything :( My mom got a good find, so it was worth it. Plus, it's always nice just to have family time! We hung out at my mom's all day, which was nice b/c she was able to take care of Asher giving me some one on one time w/Jaden. He had a TON of energy, and I think the only one I wore out was myself...LOL When Shaun got home, we packed everyone back into the car and headed down town for the Island Fest. My BIL (brother-in-law), Mike, was down there working for his company Q-it Up. We had some good food, Jaden got to play w/his cousin Micah, and all and all just enjoyed our evening as a family.

Never ends...

If someone had told you, "once you get married and have kids, you will never have a moment to yourself again", would you have thought about it for a little bit longer??? LOL Somedays, I just feel like it never ends, housework that is. Though my family would tend to think that I don't do much around the house, and I WILL admit that Shaun does more then me, I do actually do stuff around the house. But, Jaden is never far behind, messing it up again or getting out something new. Somedays I just ask, "what's the point?" Almost like the question, "why make the bed, you're just gonna mess it up again in a few hours?". LOL

Asher

Lilypie 1st Birthday PicLilypie 1st Birthday Ticker
Asher means "happy and blessed". The happy part he has yet to live up to. He is a colicky baby, though he IS getting better! He has started to talk and smile and sometimes even laugh. He is my serious baby, always concerned about something. I call him my worry wart...lol.

Jaden

Lilypie 2nd Birthday PicLilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker
Jaden means "God has heard". Shaun and I were trying for 1.5 years before God chose to bless us w/him, so we knew that would be his name regardless of sex. He is my happy, go go go baby! Don't be fooled by his sweet look though, he is a HAND FULL!!! He's pure boy, VERY curious, and therefore is a recipe for disaster...lol. I call him my tornatoe!

Trying this out....

So, I've never blogged before, but I thought I'd give it a try! Not sure who'd be interested in my life, but this is what there is to tell. I am loving being a SAHM (stay @ home mom), though it has it's challenges. For one, I NEVER get a break. Shaun gets to leave his work and come home, but I LIVE w/my work. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give up staying home for anything in the world!! It is what I wanted. It's just sometimes, I don't think Shaun understands. He thinks I should never complain or need a break b/c this is what I wanted. But, he's not the one who is home all day w/a colicky, teething, constipated baby. Or, w/a toddler who is only a year, but going into the terrible twos. Who really IS trying to help and really is just overly curious, but ends up getting into anything and everything. Even the loves of our life can get to you after a day of screaming and crying, right??
