Next weekend, I am going away for the weekend. I haven't had time away for myself in forever, and I'm SO excited!! I'm going snow mobiling w/a friend of mine and a group of his friends.
I'm pretty sure I haven't posted about him yet, so here it goes. There's this guy that I work w/named Brian, and sometime around September when I was having a really hard time and going through a really bad depression, he decided to befriend me. He took me out to dinner, and we talked until the restaurant closed. That seems to be how it goes most times we go out...we close down whatever restaurant we're at that week. He too has been divorced and knows what I am going through and what I will go through. It's been great to have someone to talk to and get advice from or just to vent to when things are going rough. He's been there for me through a lot. He was there for me when Shaun and I discussed possibly trying to work on things again b4 calling it quits for good. (He's never once pushed divorce on me. He just listens and lets me talk about it which usually allows me to figure out how I feel about a situation) He's been there for me through all of the struggles I've been having at work. The dishwasher that I got from freecycle, he went w/me so that I could get it home. He even comes and plows my driveway when we get a lot of snow bc he knows that I have a bad back and 2 little ones which make it hard to shovel. He's been a perfect gentleman and a great friend to me. He respects my boundaries of which there are several he has to abide by! So, when he asked if I wanted to get away for a weekend, I jumped at the opportunity. There's going to be 10-12 people there, a few of which I already know, and it should be a blast! I've never gone snow mobiling, but I'm told they take it easy the 1st trip of the year, which this will be.
The boys will be going to spend the weekend w/their Nana and Papaw. This will be a first for them, but I think all parties are ready for it. We'll see how it goes, but I'm guessing they'll have just as much fun getting spoiled by Nana and Papaw as I will have on my wkend away.
I'll be sure to let you all know how my first experience w/snow mobiling goes, assuming I live to tell the tale :D

Christmas Eve
I totally forgot about these. I should have posted this one first....oh well! So, it's Christmas tradition to go to Bronson Park on Christmas Eve. Well, my church was having a program on Christmas Eve, and I really wanted to go! So, I'd been telling my family for weeks about the program, that I wanted to go, and that it'd be cool if they'd come too. Well, Christmas Eve comes, and not only do they not want to go to the program w/me, but they won't wait for me to go w/them. I asked if they'd compromise and instead of watching "White Christmas" after the park, that they watch it b4 so that I could meet them at the park, but I guess no one felt it was important enough. So, we waited for Shaun to get in town, and we took the boys to the park by ourselves. Asher HATED getting dressed in his snow gear...LOL He cried pretty much from the time I put his snow pants on until we got to the park and someone carried him :D

Jaden is kissing the lamb :P

He also tried to eat the candy canes, but I wasn't quick enough for that kodak moment...lol!

Merry Christmas
Unfortunately my camera broke, so here's what I got b4 it broke, and everything else was taken w/my phone :(
Just thought this one was cute and had to share :D

Christmas day:

Shaun bought them a box of the cars from "Cars" the movie which of course they immediately started fighting over. Well, as soon as Jaden started playing w/the other things, Asher started hording the cars in his room. Once he had the collection he shut the door. LOL...I thought it was rather smart and TOO CUTE!

A Message by George Carlin:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but
Shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend
More, But have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and
Smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees
But Less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more
Problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too
Little, Drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read
Too Little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too
Much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to
Life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but
Have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered
Outer Space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better
Things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the

Christmas
Sunday, my pastor preached part 1 of his sermon entitled "Recycled Christmas". Part of what he preached about was that the first Christmas was about Christ coming to set us free from our debt to sin, and now we've turned Christmas from becoming debt free, through Christ, to being in debt again, only financially. He said the average person will go $2500 into debt at Christmas time. Sadly, I'm not too extremely shocked by that number.
Unfortunately, I too had gotten wrapped up in the same thought process and actually felt like a bad mom bc all my kids were getting from me were 2 gifts. I put great thought into those gifts, and I'm sure they'll love them, but there was still a part of me that said, that's not enough. But, if I can teach Jaden that Christmas isn't about the presents but about celebrating Christ's birthday, then I guess I should follow my own teachings :)

Different Doesn't Always Equal Bad
I've come to learn that when it comes to church, different isn't always bad. My church is definitely different. We're not traditional. We're non-denominational. Most things that good Christians would see as flaws in a church, I know I used to. But what I've seen in my church so far is that it's a place, not of condemnation, but that teaches the love and forgiveness of Christ. I'd say, since I started going there this summer, at least 5 people have given or recommited their lives to Christ every Sunday. I know I did. Growing up in the church, there were a lot of times that I felt not good enough. That my life wasn't perfect enough for me to still get into heaven. A couple times, I even tried to end my life bc it just seemed so hopeless. I mean, I was never going to be good enough, right?....The main reason I kept going back to my church was bc for the first time, in a long time, not only did I feel Christ's love, but I also felt convicted. I know, those things don't seem to go hand in hand, but it just drew me in. I had to have more.
Another odd thing about my church, they don't have members. What they do have are partners. Yesterday, at least 20 people joined the church as partners. And, one thing I've learned about being a partner of the church is that you're not only agreeing to support the church in your tithes and in your prayers, but that partners need to be involved in the church. Every single person, and most of them were couples, but every single person who went up was involved somewhere in the church. Most places would say that that's too demanding, but what I think is that it causes not only a sense of unity w/your church, but a sense of pride in your church.
And lastly, what hit me the most yesterday at church, was from the second I walked in the door, people whom I barely knew told me they'd been praying for Jaden and his ear problems. People whom I don't really know, whom I'm not even sure how they found out, were just flocking me to tell me he was loved bc that's what that said to me. Not only that, I found out after church, that the nursery staff laid hands on Jaden and prayed for him for healing during Sunday school. How cool is that?!
All I can say is different doesn't equal bad, and I am trully blessed in finding my church!

Friend
What makes a friend? The dictonary describes a friend as the following:
1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
I think a friend should have a deeper meaning.
In my opinion, a friend is someone whom you keep in contact with at least once a month at minimum. Someone whom you get together with at least more then once a year. Someone whom would call you if they knew you were having a rough time or even just drop a note in the mail. Do people no longer have friends like that? Do you have to be considered a close or best friend for people to take time for people they consider friends?
Can the mere fact that you know a person really classify them as a friend? Is that really all it takes to call someone friend? Am I living in a make-believe world, or did friendship used to mean more than that??

House 4 Sale
So, Shaun and I have had our house on the market off and on for two years w/out anyone really showing any interest in it. I always assumed that it was bc after adding what you have to pay a realtor on top of what we owed, that it just made it too much for what it was really worth. We thought about renting it out but were always afraid we'd get someone in there that would either trash it or not pay...you know, all the typical horror stories. The thought of selling it ourselves was just as scary, which is why we tryed the realtor for so long. Well, I'm in the process of doing some improvements to it and hoping to put it on the market at the beginning of the year, for sale by owner. Scary, I know! But, I decided to put it on craigslist.com just for the heck of it. Well, in just 7 days, I've gotten 2 inquiries about it. One seems really serious and is coming to view it on Saturday. Please please please pray that God sends us a buyer! I can't keep up w/the house, and w/my back issues, I'm not looking forward to shoveling the driveway. As much as I said I'd never rent again, the idea of renting is really appealing to me at this point in my life. So, just keep us in your thoughts and prayers on Saturday!! THANKS :)

Jaden's Appointments
So, Jaden had his eye appointment last week. Nothing has changed. The doctor said he's farsided, but not bad enough to need glasses at this point. We're still on track for surgery when he's about 5yrs old, and we go back in 9mos to get him checked up again.
Today we took him to his ear specialist. Jaden's ears are not doing well :( He has fluid on both ears, and has a benign pollip in his ear. The doctor said he's hearing right now as if he had his fingers pluggin his ears. So, he's on meds for the pollip, and he's being scheduled for a 2nd set of tubes AND removal of his adnoids
This may sound bad, but out of both of my babies, it's better for Jaden to be sick than Asher. He's used to being sick and keeps a cheerful disposition about it all. Plus, he's not afraid of doctors. Asher is afraid of doctors and hates having anyone touch him. But, I just feel bad for Jaden and wish I could have a healthy baby!
Just please pray for him, and his upcoming surgery! And pray for me, I know it's nothing major, but it's just all hitting me really hard for some odd reason.

the power of a mom
Today at work, I got a call from Jaden. He was talking, but I really struggling understanding him over the phone. So, I did the "yep", "yeah", and "sure" like you do when you have no clue what someone is saying, but want them to think you do. Finally, Shaun gets on the phone and tells me that he was telling me he hurt his finger. I was like, oh, and felt bad that I didn't catch that. So, I had Shaun put him back on the phone. The conversation went like this:
Jaden- "I hurt my finger"
Holly- "I'm sorry baby, how'd you do that?"
Jaden- "I fell. Can you kiss it?"
Holly- "sure buddy, hold it up to the phone, and I'll kiss it"
the sound of his finger near the phone
Holly- "muahh" "I kissed it baby"
Jaden- "thanks mommy, it feels better now"
Holly- "love you"
Jaden- "love you too mommy!"
Can I just tell you, he melts my heart!!!

The Bee Movie
I took Asher to see his first movie in the theater, along w/Jaden, making this Jaden's second time in the theater. I was a little nervous so I got my sister Charity to go w/me. Taking a 2 and 1 yr old to a movie theater, I think most parent's would be nervous :) But, to my surprise, the did GREAT! Asher sat there, eyes wide, feeling for his popcorn bc heaven forbid he take his eyes off the screen...LOL They both sat still and quietly the whole movie. Well, Asher started asking "what's that" towards the last 10 mins of the movie, but all in all, they did wonderful and really enjoyed it! And I, I just enjoyed watching my boys enjoy themselves. It made it well worth it!!!!

So, if any of you have seen my house, you know it is SUPER SMALL!!! But, one thing I've wanted from day one is a dishwasher. I HATE washing dishes, plus it takes up time w/the kids. So, yesterday, I got a free dishwasher off of freecycle!!! I AM SO SIKED!!! I tried it out as soon as I got it home...LOL My friend thought I was crazy, but I couldn't have been happier :D Praise God for generous people!!!!

Not As Planned
That seems to be a very good title for my life in general...."Not As Planned". I went for the interview for the job at the PO, and even though I'm sure I'll get offered one, I'm now not sure if I'll take it. I found out at the interview, that the job we applied for (not the one my dad thought we were applying for) is only guarenteed for 21 days. There is a strong likely hood that we could work more as long as we have good attendence records, but nothing would be promised. So, do I give up a job where I know I have hours, BUT could possibly be on the chopping block bc of my sexual harrassment filing. I've heard from a very reliable source that a few managers (including the one I filed against) have decided that I declared war when I filed. So, I'm not sure my job is safe, but if it is, I know I can take care of my family. OR, do I chance something at the PO where I'll have more hours and almost $2 more an hr in pay. It seems like a gamble either way you look at it....which is the safest bet??? I DON'T KNOW!
Then, there's still the insurance issues. His insurance options SUCK! When he moved out, his boss made him change his address, which does make sense, but it unqualified him for the insurance we had. And now that I've gotten a look at our options, I realize that they all SUCK! The one Meijer choose for him doesn't cover anything hospital related, and it only covers generic meds (it says that in BOLD print). W/Jaden, we NEED medicine coverage. The other 3 options that he has, has us paying $1000 PER PERSON b4 our insurance will kick in. Jaden will have that $1000 spent in no time, the only problem is, we won't have the $1000 to spend. So, do we stick w/the insurance that doesn't allow us to go to the hospital or get our kids meds? OR, do we go w/the insurance that won't cover until we put ourselves in the hole??
Today, I just want to crawl back in bed and cry!

Life
Well, it's been a while since I had something to say. Life is continuing to go by. I'm still waiting to hear back from the post office. If I get the job I will be working either 2nd or 3rd shift, I'm hoping for 2nd, and I would start on Nov 26th. My car is still running good....best $1000 I've spent in a while! God really was looking out for me there :) I'm still going to my Divore Care class, and I'm really enjoying it now. It has a lot of stuff that is good to know. Some of it I'm learning a little to late, but at least I'm learning. I've had to do some apologizing here recently, which isn't the easiest thing for me to do, but I pray that I'm growing through all of this. I've gotten the 2nd wall done in the boys' room. How long has it been since I started that?? LOL My goal is to be completed by Thanksgiving, but that may not happen. I've just been busy. Like this week, even though Shaun took the kids on Monday, I was supposed to meet up w/a friend. That never happened, but I wasted all day hoping that it would, not that it was her fault bc she couldn't have forseen how her day would go! Then yesterday, Shaun brought the kids back in town bc he had a dentist appointment, and he just hung around here all day. We did get an AWESOME deal on boots for the boys yesterday!! Both boys got a nice warm pair of boots, together totally $10!!! And, no, it wasn't a walmart special :P
Speaking of the boys, they're doing good. They're pure boy as always...lol. I got Asher some more books so that we'll have more variety :) Jaden is still into his cars. His new movies of choice are Dumbo, The Incredibles, and most fav is Robots. Every once in a while, he'll get into a veggie tale mood, and it will be all veggie tales for a while. Not sure how he determines which he wants when. He has his eye and ear appointments next month. I'm kinda anxious to get them done and over with so that we can know how he's doing. Pray that he doesn't have hearing loss when they retest him! As for the eye, I'm not sure how I want to pray. I'd like for it to be perfect, but I know that's not going to happen, even though God could if He wanted to. Part of me wants them to say go to the specialist and get this taken care of now bc I hate the thought of his eye sight being affected bc we waited till he was 5yrs old to do the surgery. But, the other part of me wants to wait till he's 5yrs old so that it will hopefully only take 1 surgery vs 2,3, or however many it might take to get it correct right now.
Couple more things to pray about. Please pray for me as the holidays approuch. This is going to by my first holidays having to split the boys. It makes the holidays not such a jolly thing. Pray for the boys. I know they're young, and I'm hoping bc of that, that they'll adjust to everything easier then if they were older. But, then there is the possibility that they won't understand and will react badly bc they are at such a young age w/all of this going on. I don't think there's ever a perfect time for divorce to happen, which is probably why God doesn't approve of divorce. And lastly, pray for Shaun and I. Pray that God will still continue to work on our hearts and our lives, that He will show us where to go from here so that things can continue to be civil btwn the two of us. That's got to be the toughest thing, staying civil. People all around me say that I need to be more of a witch w/things, and maybe Shaun thinks I am, not sure, you'd have to ask him, but I try not to be. I know that, no matter what happens btwn Shaun and I, our families will always be connected. He will always be the father of my children, his parent's will always be my kids grandparents, and so on and so on, and same for him w/my family. For the kids sake, we need to show them that even though things may not work out the way you want them to, you can still be nice to one another. I don't want things to be any more weird for the kids then they have to be, and I don't want ANYONE putting them in the position to have to decide which parent they love more!! So, just keep us in your prayers if you could!! THANKS :)

THANKS :)

ZooBoo
So, Friday night, Shaun met me at work as soon as I got out w/the boys dressed and ready to go to the ZooBoo. I think they had a good time :)

Waiting in line to ride the train...
(Asher trying to feed Shaun a leaf...LOL)

(Jaden and I behaving)

(hold us daddy!)

Riding the train....
(my little chicken was being brave)

(maybe not so brave anymore)

Looking at the goats which Asher called sheep b4 heading home...
(notice anything missing in these pics?)

Don't feel bad, we didn't realize what was missing until we'd gotten out to the car. Somewhere along the line, we'd lost the mu-my or blanket. So, mommy got to run through the zoo looking for the mu-my bc you can't leave w/out it! LOL Anyways, it ended well bc I found it, and it was a beautiful night to go to the ZooBoo. Couldn't have asked for better weather!

I got the call!
I just got a call to do my drug test for the post office position. The lady said it was the 1st step to being hired...I'm doing a happy dance right now! It's a full time night position. It's a dollar more an hr then what I make right now. It doesn't give me benefits, but I don't get benifits right now. But, once I'm in, I can take the test to be a perminant FT employee which would give me benefits.
In other news, Jaden is being changed on his meds. We're going to try zyrtec as soon as my ped gets my insurance to accept it. I have a big dislike for insurance right now! Our insurance was changed from BCN to BCBS w/out me knowing about it. So, now I have to hope that all my bills are going to be covered under the new insurance as I resubmit everything.
I think we're going to take the boys to the zooboo tonight, so I should have some pictures to share later on :)

2 nights
I've finally gotten 2 nights of good sleep! I SO needed that :D Tomorrow I don't get to sleep in bc I'm watching the twins. I dropped off a job application at the post office, along w/3 other people in my family. We'll see if anything comes of it. It would be a night time job and it would pay a $1 more an hour. It doesn't have insurance, but I don't have insurance where I'm at now either so I'm not losing anything.
Jaden's eye is doing better, but I don't think his allergies are. I'm afraid, along w/every other specialist that he goes to, that we'll be adding an allergy specialist to the list! Another up note that I keep forgetting to mention, Jaden is doing SUPER w/potty training!! We haven't had an accident in about 3wks now. I'm even letting him go out of the house in underwear w/out worring too much about accidents, he's doing that good! He also made it 2 nights last wk w/out peeing during the night. I'm just SO PROUD of him!! Now, if only his little bro were ready to potty train....LOL
Asher was having one of his "days" today bc he didn't want to go to nursery. He's been doing so well for about a month now, but today I had to peel him off of me. I let him sit w/me during the singing, but when the service started and he started making his odd noises, I said he had to go. After church, I had a lunch w/my divorce care group. It was a little weird at first, but I ended up having fun. The boys had a blast. Asher even made a new friend, and I may have a new babysitter!! Diane is definitely old enough to be their grandma, and Asher took right to her!! So, she said if I ever needed her, to give her a call, and I'll definitely keep that in mind. My family really are the only people that babysit for me. I'm pretty particular about who I let my kids go to. So, it will be nice to have another person whom I know is good w/the kids, that I feel comfortable with and that they feel comfortable with.
Well, that's about it for now. Thanks for reading and thanks to those who choose to leave me messages!

Back To The Future- I Love The 80's
My church is doing an outreach month w/the theme "I love the 80's" This is how Pastor Cummings started the service last Sunday, followed by an AWESOME sermon!!!! It was all about how if we could go back to the cross and see not the condemnation that God had for our sins, but the love that he showed for our lives. It was undescribable!

Thank God for my Church!
That's all I can say right now, bc if I hadn't found this church where I could connect and re-energize, I'd be a lot worse off right now! There is SO much going on in my life right now, where to start????
The boys were sick this wkend. I don't know what it was, but you could just tell, they weren't themselves. Asher slept w/me Thur-Sat night, and Jaden slept w/me Sun night, and they ONLY sleep w/me when they're not feeling well. Jaden now has pink eye. We upped his allergy meds AGAIN. If this doesn't work, they may send him to a specialist. Shaun thinks he may have asthma.
I have a sexual harrassment case at work that nothing is being done about. I get sexually harrassed daily at that place, it's just unreal! So, I'm in the process of looking for a new job. I respect myself enough to know that enough is enough. If I didn't have a family to support, I would have walked out on Monday. Today I was literally sick at work, and I don't know if it was simply being at work or if it's bc I'm so run down right now.
I got he paperwork for the divorce today. Shaun and I went out to eat on Friday night to talk about things. I was really hoping that we'd try to work on things b4 calling it quits, but I guess that's just not going to happen. Too many things that we'll never get passed or give up. Silly me did hope in the back of her head that we'd be able to work on things and change for the better and maybe, just maybe, be a healthy family, but again, that was just silly ol' me. The reality of everything has just been hitting me pretty hard this past week. I haven't been sleeping well. I can't go to sleep, nor can I wake up in the mornings. I have no energy to do anything. I stay on the go so that I don't have to think, but that doesn't solve anything. In fact, it might make things worse. There are days I feel VERY alone! People always ask, "are you ok?" Well, no, how could I be. How could I be when my world is crashing in around me??? Then there's the, "what can I do?" Your typical answer is "just pray", and yes, I need prayer, I need lots of it. What I really need are things people can't give me. I need money to pay the bills. I need a maid bc I don't have the energy to clean even at the level which I used to, and according to my mother, even that was never enough. I need a day off from everything. I need a massage to ease my aching muscles. I need things to be okay, but nothing is okay in my life. I need to go to bed.....

Hair Cuts
I got Jaden and Asher's hair cut today. I couldn't believe how long Asher's hair really was! You can't tell bc it curls up in the back, but when it's straight, it was all the way down to his back. I couldn't believe it! Here are some after pictures. He was on the run, so I took what I could get. I told him to say "cheese", and he goes "Eeeeee" LOL...SO CUTE!
