Answered Prayer for Us

Well, if you've read some of my past post, you'll see that I was worried about whether or not I needed to bring Jaden back to Ann Arbor sooner then he was currently scheduled. I felt that maybe his eye was getting worse, but didn't want to act rashly. So, I brought it to God w/all the other things on my list, sadly, not fully expecting to hear an answer. Well, a couple of days ago, they called me to tell me we had to reschedule his appointment bc the doctor couldn't see him that day. He goes in a week from tomorrow, March 8. Thanks for the answer God!

A Prayer

Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given
in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate.

It seems prayer still upsets some people. Please read.....

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the
Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this
is what they heard;

"Heavenly Father,

We come before you today

To ask your forgiveness and

To seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says,

"Woe to those who call evil good"

But that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium

And reversed our values.

We have exploited the poor and

Called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness

And called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists

And called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline

Our children and called it

Building self esteem.

We have abused power

And called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's

Possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air

With profanity and

Pornography and called it

Freedom of speech and expression.

We have ridiculed the time

Honored values of our

Forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God,

And know our hearts today;

Cleanse us from every sin

And set us free.

Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of
legislators walked Out during the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is
pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls wi th only 47 Of those calls
responding negatively. The church is now receiving international
requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio Program, "The
Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program
than any other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our Nation and
wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one
nation under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends.

"If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything."

Asher is 1 YEARS OLD!

So, again, I'm a couple days late on posting, but Asher is one!! Again, I can't believe that it's been a year, from when he was born...

to now....

When he was 1st born, he was SO colicky...worse then Jaden was. I really didn't feel connected to him and was worried what life would bring. Now, I couldn't love him more! He's just the sweetest little thing, and I'm hooked! He started clapping w/in the past week, and he's REALLY cruising on furniture now. I think if he wanted to walk that he could. He just doesn't need to, so why do it? :) What a blessing he really did turn out to be! (His name means happy and blessed if you didn't know)
As for his stats, he weighs 21 lbs 7 ozs, and is 29 ins. He's short, and actually pretty thin too. Again, just another difference btwn him and his big bro.

Do I have a right?

Lately, I have been deeply depressed by my life. I've found myself tired, extremely tired. I get up later and later. Go to bed earlier and earlier. Nothing helps.
I feel overwhelmed. The other day I made my mom run to Meijer w/me bc I just couldn't take Jaden any more for the day. How does a two year old get to me so? How do I LET a two year old get to me so?? I LOVE my boys to death, both of them. Jaden is just SO full of life...the typical terrible twos. I still worry about his eye. I can't decide if I should get him in sooner. Somedays his eye seems to be worse, but other days he seems to be normal, for him at least. I don't want to over-react, but I don't want to under-react either. I do want to cause his eye to get worse, but I don't want them to say it's fine, and I brought him in too soon. I mean, it's not like they're in town where I could just drop him in for a quick check up.
Asher is a momma's boy, which mostly I love. I love that he wants me and needs me. Jaden turned to a daddy's boy around 6mos, and he hasn't come back since :( But, there are days when I wish I could get a break w/out Asher wanting to be right there. And, he's SO particular about everything. At my parent's house, he will only sleep in one room, he's scared of the others. W/people, if he will go to you right away w/out screaming at you, feel VERY special. He's very different from his older brother, but how could I NOT love these sweet faces?!?

Then there's finances, my marriage, and the fact that mostly I feel all alone. I don't do anything. I don't go anywhere. I don't have friends to call. I have the internet....how sad is that? But, do I have a right to be down? I am to find comfort in Christ and strength in Him. Why is that so easier said then done??

Got heat?

Well, I'm used to being on the chilly side. We usually keep the furnace low to save on money and a space heater in the livingroom during the day while the boys are up. But, when they go to bed, off goes the heater, and the house gets a chill. Well, about a week ago, around 11P, I realize that my nose is ICE! So, I go see what the house is set at. It's set at 62...normal, but the house is at 50! I call my dad, and after about a half an hour, he gets it working again. So, it's fixed, right?....WRONG Thursday, I realize that my nose is ice again and go check. The house is at 55. Time to call dad again. He fixes it, leaves, and like 5mins later, it isn't working again. :( So, I call him, but he says it will have to wait till the next day so he can buy a new part. So, we sleep using the space heaters all night to keep us warm and go straight to my parent's in the morning for some HEAT! It is finally fixed....I HOPE! Got heat?

The Boys' Bday Party

I wanted it to feel personalized, so Jaden had a Tonka theme

And Asher had an Elmo theme

I made each of them personalized hats

Jaden blew out both of his candles

Asher could have cared less...LOL

This is how Jaden ate his cake

All in all, Jaden had a great time, and Asher could have cared less :)

Jaden is TWO

Ok, so it's a couple days late, but Jaden turned two!! I can't believe it's been two years since he came into our lives. I remember the delivery as if it were yesterday! I feel in love w/him the instant I saw him or should I say, held him. I couldn't see him for a couple hours after he was born bc I had pushed so hard that my face was swollen, and I couldn't open my eyes very well. He's changed so much since he was 1st born. He was a colicky baby, always crying, always needing to be held. Then, he turned into the happiest little person.

He still is happy, but he's definitely in the terrible twos and tests every limit he can! He can be SO stubborn, which of course, I have NO CLUE where he gets that from...LOL :) He's starting to be able to reason w/some things. Like, he's started listening if I tell him, if you do ..... then you will get a ..... Or sometimes I'll ask him if he wants a time out or spanking, and of course he says no. So, then I tell him well don't do that or else you'll get one.
I took him for his yearly check up, and he is in the 50% for height, 94% for weight, and 97% for his head....poor guy, he has such a BIG head :) She said he looks very well proportioned though, and I would have to agree. We're still scheduled to go to Ann Arbor again for his eye in April. I have been wondering if we should move it up, but it's so hard to tell if his eye is getting worse or not.
Well, speaking of Jaden, it's his nap time, so I should be going. I've started laying down w/him for a morning nap bc it seems to be the only way to get him to sleep. He would just go and go if I didn't make him stay still and putting him in his room does no good. He doesn't stay put, and I just spend the whole time putting him back in his bed. KIDS! :)

I'm not sure what I'm getting Shaun. I think we may go out for his birthday tonight for dinner. I think he's debating btwn Mongolian BBQ or Red Lobster. I'm guessing we'll go to Mongolian, but we'll see.

it's the little things

So, the boys have been fighting colds all winter. No surprise there. Well, bc Jaden has allergies, he has trouble fighting off the colds, and they usually turn into sinus infections and/or ear infections. Well, he's had a cold, and a couple of days ago, I noticed he had eye boogers. So, I decided it was time to take him into the doctors. I didn't realize it, but we had been there in December for the same thing. He gets cleared up for like a week, and then he's back w/his cold. So, she gave me Augmentin like he always gets, and then we talked about his allergies. When we first diagnosed him w/allergies, we put him on rhinocort, but it is MAD expensive! So, since we couldn't afford it, they put him on nasonex. Well, the nasonex is obviously not doing him any good, so she wanted me to put him on rhinocort. I told her that we just couldn't afford it, though obviously I want to do what's best for my son and his health! So, she gave me THREE bottles of samples and told me when I run out to come get more!!! Praise God that He takes care of even the little things!!!!!!
