what's new?

Since I always start w/the boys, I thought I'd start w/my updates first :) I've finally settled into my new place. If it had a dishwasher and washer/dryer hookups, it would be perfect! It took a bit to get used to the smaller place, but I really like it here. I'm on week 3 of my new job. I wish I had more flexibility, kinda defeats most of the point of working from home. But it's a job that pays well that doesn't require a wardrobe and doesn't use gas to commute. I think it's going to be a good fit in the long run though. I haven't lost any more weight since meeting my first goal, but I seem to be maintaining the loss pretty well.

J is enrolled to go to a charter school in the fall. I can't seem to get him to remember his glasses. He is scheduled for surgery Aug 18th to repair a hole in his ear from his last set of tubes. His hearing is still not what it should be. We're thinking of enrolling him in soccer this fall. He keeps asking about it, and we feel he's ready this time around.

Then there's Asher. I'm hoping his disability will go through w/in the next month. He will be starting on a low dose of meds next Wednesday to hopefully slow him down a bit. I've been giving him melatonin at nights to help him sleep. I'm also hoping that we'll get into a new OT here w/in the next month or so.

Life is never dull over here :)

forgot to mention

I GOT A JOB!!!! I had my interview last Friday for a work from home job and was offered a position!! I'll be doing what I did at TG for TG only at home. The company that they outsourced my job to hired a bunch of us ex-TG employees. They probably figured it was easier than training people w/no experience. I don't have the freedom of setting my own hours so organizing the boys' schedules isn't going to be as easy as I'd like. For example, Asher's OT is now at 7:30 AM vs 1:00pm. Yeah, wasn't thrilled about that, but what do you do? The job pays a $1 more than what I was making at TG, and I'll be here w/the boys. Praising God!!!

Jaden's Graduation

Hard to believe, but on Friday, my baby boy graduated preschool and is now a kindergartner. It was a very nice program. All the kids were adorable! Afterward, we took him out for ice cream to make it extra special. I can't believe it, my baby is growing up!

Florida

This year w/my tax refund, I decided I was going to take myself and the boys on an actual vacation. Something we'd never done together, at least not to this degree. We'd done a few mini-trips, but I really wanted to do something they'd enjoy and remember. So, we went to Florida, and brought along my mom and sister Charity. The boys actually did really good on the plane. I was worried to say the least, but both were thrilled and did a good job!
We went to Disney the first day:

The second day was Seaworld:

I'm pretty sure we all had a great time and made wonderful memories :)

28

I still can't believe I turned 28 this year! I certainly don't feel any older than right out of HS. Considering everything, it was a really good bday. Brian took me out Friday night to Great Lakes Shipping Co. where I stuffed myself. He also gave me a very romantic card, a dozen roses and this gorgeous ring:

He's also planned a secret get away for us. He won't tell me where we're going, just that I've never done what he has planned.
Saturday afternoon, my mom took me out to lunch and gave me some photos that spell LOVE out of every day scenes. That evening, I threw myself my own bday party and had a great time!

Sunday, my actual birthday, I got my boys back. They had gotten me a jewelry box that I could put a picture of us in on top. I got lots of birthday wishes from friends and really couldn't have asked for much more.
Happy Birthday to Me :)
