KWings

I took the boys to their first hockey game last wkend at KWings w/a group of people from my work. They LOVED it!! I figured J would bc he's really into sports, but I wasn't sure about Asher. But, Asher sat on my lap the whole time and watched. Jaden made friends w/my friends boyfriend and kept himself entertained the whole time as well. They're both trying to convince Papa and Uncle Mike to do a boys night so they can go see another game...lol

found

Well, after a little over 9 months, my Aunt's body was finally found. She was found in the woods around my Uncle's house. That's all I really know right now. The body has been sent away for tests. We should know more w/in the next few days.

1yr post 2nd set of tubes

So, true to fashion, it's been a year since Jaden had his last set of tubes, and he needs them again. Last time we did tubes and took out the adenoids. This time they're doing tubes and taking out his adenoids and tonsils. I knew last week when the doc said that he had an ear infection that he'd be needing tubes. So, they'll be calling us w/in the next few days w/the date of his surgery.
As for his eye, Jaden is currently being referred to the DeVoss Children's Hospital to see a specialist. I should have the date for that appt here soon as well. My poor guy!!

Yrly Doc Appts

So, the boys had their yrly doctor appointments. Asher is in the 50%s for his head and height but in the 75% for his weight. Recently, I'd notice some really drastic mood swings in Asher. He's normally got attitude, but he's usually still fun and loving deep down. But when these moods come over him, it's honestly like he's possessed. He throws fits and he's horrible and he gets a glazed over look. But, as soon as you feed him, he goes back to his normal self. I was thinking he was having low blood sugar levels. So, last month I had his glucose tested, but by a doctor that we don't normally see. And, all they told me was that he's fine, probably just hungry. Well, I wasn't satisfied w/that bc he tells me when he's hungry. So, I decided it was one of the things I was going to bring up at his yrly which I knew was coming soon. So, I asked his normal ped, and she told me that all the test ruled out was that he's not diabetic. Which when she explained to me the symptoms I would be seeing, I totally agree, he's not diabetic. But, she said that doesn't mean he doesn't have hypoglycemic attacks when his blood sugar levels drop. I'd already stopped giving him high sugary things like pop tarts which was one of their favorite breakfasts, and I've started making them eat more fruits and yogurt and oatmeal for breakfast. She said that's really the thing to do. Stay away from white food and stick w/brown foods, lots of fruits and veggies, all the good stuff. So, for now, Asher is on a much stricter diet. I totally forgot to ask about his stuttering which I'm mad at myself for. I'm hoping he'll out grow it, but maybe he'll need some speech therapy, who knows.
As for Jaden, he is in the 75%s for both height and weight. I knew he'd be up there for his height bc he just had a growing spurt. Of course, at the end of winter when all the stores have their summer clothes out, Jaden decides to grow...lol I know it's not his fault or in his control for that matter, just wasn't convenient. They tested his vision for the first time which made me happy bc I wasn't thrilled at his last eye appt w/his specialist here in town. I thought the appt went way too fast and that how he tested J's vision just sucked. I should have gone w/my gut and gotten a 2nd opinion back then bc J's vision is 20/40, and he's favoring his good eye which was very apparent in the testing. So, I called his surgeon thinking we'd just start the ball rolling on the surgery, but she wants him to be seen by an eye specialist first. I guess maybe he'll get a patch for a while to see if that could help, I don't know. So, I'm waiting to get him referred to a different eye specialist bc I'm not taking him back to his normal one. I just knew there was something wrong and that the lid had gotten worse, but I trusted that the doctor knew what he was talking about when he told me I was wrong. I'm kicking myself for that one too.
Well, that's the updates on the boys. Am I old enough to have a 4 and 3 yr old?? :)

Dinosaur Exhibit

Last Saturday when the boys got back from vacation w/their papaw, nana, and dad, Shaun and I took them to see the dinosaur exhibit in GR. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting but the boys had fun. Asher is the only 3yr old I know who actually enjoyed looking at all the stuff in the museum, not just the dinosaurs. We told my dad he has a museum buddy now..lol. Anyways, here are some of the pictures from the day, enjoy :)
